First Bike Doctor Day a Success – Plus Glynn’s Charity Ride Hits The News!

Well, despite the weather being typically British last Saturday all of us at Transition Rutland are very pleased with the first of our Bike Doctor Days.

In the midst of the cool rain showers, we consumed a vast amount of cakes and cups of tea whilst chatting to local people about their cycling experiences, mapping out suggested changes in Oakham to improve cycling, and we did maintenance checks on almost 30 bikes!

Glynn from Out of The Rut (one of the bike doctors) hit the news today : http://www.rutland-times.co.uk/news/glynn_in_the_saddle_for_charity_1_2485706 . In case you didn’t know yet, Glynn is riding to work every day for 6 weeks (28 miles a day!), in order to raise money for Macmillan Cancer support. So please give generously, and at the very least, get back on your bike in solidarity!

Hope to see you outside Tesco between 10am and 4pm this Saturday and at Oakham Castle on Saturday, March 19!
